Relaxing Massage Therapy

Therapeutic  Massage

Relieve tension built up in muscles with a deep tissue massage. The therapist works out knots and tension-filled areas to promote muscle conditioning and repair. Pressure can be adjusted throughout the massage to suit your comfort level. After the massage, you'll enjoy total body relaxation and a rejuvenated feeling. A consultation is recommended, as with any massage.

Hot Stone Massage

Heat from basalt stones penetrates deeply into muscles during this therapeutic massage. Firmer pressure can be applied easier with the smooth stones for the removal of knots and tension in muscles. At the end, hot stones are laid along the spine and between toes. A hot stone facial massage can also be included, upon request.

Reflexology
Reflexology is a form of bodywork that focuses on stimulating the nerve endings, or reflex points, on the feet. It is primarily performed on the feet, but can also be done on the hands. This practice has been around for thousands of years, used mainly in India and China as a therapy to relieve pain. In the 1900s, Dr. William Fitzgerald introduced reflexology to other parts of the world and later refined it into today's reflexology techniques.

The theory of reflexology is that by applying pressure to the sole of the foot, to reflex points which correspond to organs, glands, and other parts of the body, it will help reduce pain and balance the body more naturally. Reflexology has been used as an alternative therapy and a compliment to modern medical practices to help promote relaxation, reduce pain, reduce blood pressure, improve circulation, ease depression and anxiety, and encourage overall healing. In spa or body care centers, reflexology is an advanced treatment for mainly relaxation and the soothing of tired feet. 

A typical treatment session lasts 30 or 60 minutes. Clients remain fully clothed, removing only socks and shoes, and are seated in a comfortable, reclined position. A warm foot soak is sometimes added before the treatment.
